We have a bit of a dilemma. For Chinese New Year we get a week off from school and realized we need to start making plans. Everyone in China/Taiwan/Hong Kong travels during the week and stores and restaurants shut down so by all accounts we should go off-island.
Our dilemma: where to go? For April break we're planning a trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. We have nearly three weeks off because the school is moving into the new building during break. With that kind of time we figured we'd do a nice extended trip. So those places are out for our February trip and Europe is just a bit too far to travel for just a week.
Right now Japan is our top pick. The disadvantages are that it's cold in February and expensive. The advantages are that it's Japan! Anyone been there? Any suggestions on where to go?
Talk to Sandy Elder - I recall Steve saying something about a Japan connection.
ReplyDeleteThanks. We're now thinking we may stay on-island for the week. There was only one flight that still had seats and it got us thinking that maybe we'd rather go to Japan when it's a little less busy.
ReplyDeleteI remember being in China during holiday week; sometimes it's better to stay put and have adventures close to home.
ReplyDeleteIt's still a holiday week in Taiwan but I don't want to just be in Kaohsiung the whole time. Wherever we go it'll be busy, even on-island, but I've gotten better at being in crowds. On the other hand, if we're only going to go to Japan once or twice we'd rather it be just a tad quieter.
