In the afternoon we took the subway to the Dream Mall.
It's huge, with 12 floors and a gigantic ferris wheel on the roof. It's a little hard to tell from this picture but the walls are at all different angles so it looks all catty-whompus.
We took the escalators to the top to check out the kiddie carnival rides on the roof.
The ferris wheel is one of those kinds that never stops moving. You just climb on as it goes by. We didn't go on it yesterday. I'm waiting for less smog so the view is better. Plus, it takes about 45 minutes and we had things to do.
First, lunch. Dumplings, yams, scallops and jasmine tea. Yum.
Then we wended our way down to the basement as we searched for something to decorate our walls. Our apartment is so white - walls, floors, furniture - that we really need more color but we just haven't found what we want to hang on the walls. We did put some of our travels-around-Taiwan photos but we have another whole wall that's bare.
Unfortunately the mall didn't have anything we wanted. Next we walked up to Ikea to take a look at what they had. We didn't find any wall art we wanted but we did find a bed. We're tired of our not-quite-right bed and we need another bed for guests so we're going to do some rearranging of the rooms and make a true guest room and hopefully get Lee some better nights' sleep with a nicer bed.
The bed gets delivered on Tuesday. It'll be interesting getting it all up the elevator.
