Today I'd like to share some thoughts with you about toilet paper. I read an article about the invention of toilet paper and its prevalence in the US and it got me thinking about toilet paper here. Whenever we go shopping we have a hard time finding toilet paper on a roll, like this:
There's plenty of it in flat sheets, like kleenex. The packages look like this:
You may be asking, how do I know that's toilet paper and not facial tissue? Because the wrapper says so: "collecting type toilet paper." I'm perfectly happy using flat sheets instead of rolls, since it seems to be the preferred method of packaging, but my bathroom doesn't have the infrastructure. I have a place to put a roll but it's not like there's a little shelf to put a pile of tissues. It just seems like there's a disconnect between the manufacturers and the bathroom designers. I'm just saying.
