The good news is that Lee is starting to feel a little better. The bad news is that he's lost a little faith in the Taiwanese healthcare system. He took the day off from work on Monday and asked the school nurse to help him get a doctor's appointment. The examination was cursory, at best, and the interpreter disappeared before Lee got an explanation of what the drugs were that he was prescribed.
Lee brought the pills to school today to get the nurse to identify them, with mixed results.
One pill is an antibiotic, one is Tylenol, one is something you take if you have a shellfish allergy and one was unidentifiable. Lee has opted to take a pass on the latter two. Wise decision.
We have a friend with a rambunctious six year old boy who recently took a trip to the emergency room. He miss-judged his jump over a bush and landed on an ill-placed stick. He needed to get a few stitches in a delicate part of his anatomy so off he and his mom went to the hospital. The emergency room was just a big open room with virtually no privacy. I guess you can check out the doctor's handiwork with the needle and thread before he gets to you. No thanks!
