First, dragon fruit.
It had the texture of kiwi but without as much flavor. A little bit sweet but kind of bland.
Second, dragon eyes.
These have hard, thin shells and are a little smaller than a ping pong ball. The shell (skin? rind?) comes off pretty easily and inside the fruit is like a peeled grape in texture with a big pit in the center. It's taste is hard to describe except to say that I liked it and Lee spit his out.
ReplyDeleteMore fruit or more food?
ReplyDeleteBoth! I love the unknown fruit whole and cut up. And I'd pay Lee $5 if he finds and wats a fried insect on a stick ($10 if it's a scorpion).
ReplyDeleteLee says come visit and he'll buy you a scorpion. Actually, we haven't found any insects on a stick. Plenty of seafood on a stick - shrimp, squid. They kind of look like insects. We're both going (separately) to Thailand for conferences. Maybe we'll find some there.
